13. YET ANOTHER SONG ABOUT STAR TREK

Well I’m getting older, I’m not getting bolder
I’ve been in this band for a while
Wrote so many lyrics and been so satiric
Has it all been worthwhile?

And as I type “engage” on another page
I question if I could have been wrong
But then I rhyme “boldly go” with “green-skinned h* ”
And I sing yet another song about Star Trek

I’m the gyrating girl in this Star Trek world
Strutting my stuff on the stage
I’m wearing this vinyl with so much style
Who wouldn’t want to engage?

But why, oh why, did I decide
This band is where I belong?
But then I start to grind on the captain’s behind
And I sing yet another song about Star Trek

I’m strumming a six-string and playing with my thing
Sometimes I ask myself why
All my guitar tricks, cool riffs and hot licks
Are for songs that make my mom cry

And as I strike a chord and blaspheme the Lord
I question if I could have been wrong
And then I rhyme “Takei” with “flaming gay”
And I sing yet another song about Star Trek

And as we start to Pon Farr in this seedy bar
We question if we could’ve been wrong
But then we rock hard and long and you all sing along
As we sing yet another song about Star Trek
